How to Get Started with Harmony on QuickNode:ġ. This has enabled Harmony to scale to over 1,000 nodes currently - 80% of which are maintained by the community. This method is EPoS, or Effective Proof-of-Stake, where the more tokens you stake in the system, the more hardware you are required to maintain. They have adapted the PoS algorithm to help combat staking centralization. Similar to other EVM-compatible, eco-friendly chains, Harmony runs a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus model.
This randomness algorithm is battle-tested, unbiased, and highly scalable. Harmony has a fully scalable architecture and works under a secure, random sharding model, where network validators are randomly chosen and distributed among various shards.
